How to Customize BIMS ###################### Users can make custom columns in some templates, and those custom columns can be specified in property_bims. To make custom columns, add the name of your column to the property_bims template along with the template to cross-reference and information about the data format of the column. More information can be found in the `property_bims section `_ of the BIMS Manual. .. image:: images/CustomizeBIMS1.png :width: 800 Once the appropriate information has been added to property_bims, the customized column can be added and used in phenotype_bims by adding ‘##’ before the column heading. .. image:: images/CustomizeBIMS2.png :width: 800 Not all custom fields are searchable by default. To ensure fields are searchable, navigate to the configuration panel by selecting the icon at the top right of the page. This will open the “Configuration” tab. Under “Configuration Pages”, select the appropriate “Search” field to open the corresponding search page. Here, we will select “Search Phenotype” to open the subsequent “Search Configuration” tab. .. image:: images/CustomizeBIMS3.png :width: 800 Once you have navigated to the “Search Configuration” tab, the custom properties associated with that data will be listed. Check the box of the properties you wish to search on and select “Save Configuration”. .. image:: images/CustomizeBIMS4.png :width: 800 To search by custom properties, select “Search” in the accordion menu.
